◆ ABOUT THE TABLA & LEHRA ◆
The Tabla is a percussion instrument widely used in Indian Classical music both as a solo instrument and as an accompaniment to vocal or instrumental music. When played as a solo instrument, the tabla is accompanied (usually on the harmonium or sarangi) by a continuous cyclical musical phrase or riff called the "Lehra" or "Nagma" (ostinato in western music) that keeps track of the "aavartan" or rythmic cycle in the chosen "taal".

Pros and cons of iLehra - Lehra Nagma Player app for iPhone and iPad

iLehra - Lehra Nagma Player app good for

Im using it since a year, this is by far the best lehra app!!! Works perfectly, fast and easy to use, tons of taal including rare ones, lots of features and options, big choice of raags for nagma/lehara,and frequent updates. Excellent, very complete and serious app! I was expecting this for a long time! Je lutilise depuis un an,cette app est sans hésitation la meilleure du genre! Marche parfaitement, pleins de taal et doptions, des updates fréquents, grand choix de differents raags. De très loin la meilleure!
Excellent for tabla practicing. Avmust to have ! Also the developper is very re-active to the comment provided.
Great app, very useful, accurately programmed and accurately keeping the time cycle. Many useful features. Good idea to have different sounds for matras and vibhags, maybe a different sound for Sam could be useful. Great to now have a Lahara machine to carry around in your pocket, although the sound cannot be compared to e. g. Sunadamala. The violin sounds horrible, please try to program more natural sounds! The santoor is a real improvement, the best sound so far, what about Sarangi? But not one more squeaky sound, please! Altogether, an excellent job and a great effort so far! Keep on Prasad! Cheers from good cold Europe to SC.
Very good app. A must have for those who are serious about rhythm
This will be very useful for me--a raagini and naagma all in one in my pocket. I think the focus going forward should be on better instrument sound--and to add a real sarangi sound. This would actually make it useful for a tabla solo performance if there is no one available to give lehra. Would also be good to balance the tampura sound with the lehra sound. Another idea would be to add some instrumental gats so you can (sort of) simulate sangat (accompaniment) and play with that instead of a standard lehra. Thanks for the work!
One of the Best applications. If you are a beginner with tabla or allready good. This app will with bring the right lehra for your taal.

Some bad moments

The tanpura is brilliant but I thought it would have tabla beats as per taaal, not very useful
Dear Prasad Sometime the app is running but no sound at all. Then I have to reboot the phone and the sound comes. Why its happening.
